Mangottu Kavu is a renowned temple situated in a village called Athipotta, near Alathur in Palakkad District of Kerala State. This temple is visited by many devotees far and wide.

Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays are considered special days to visit the temple. Apart from the powerful Bhagavathy, Ganapathy has a shrine in the South-West corner called Kanni Moola.

Mookken Chathen is situated on the Northern side of the temple, who is guarding the Goddess. Special Poojas are conducted in his shrine also.

The temple is a public religious institution coming under the Malabar Devaswom Board. The day-to-day administration is carried out by an Executive Officer appointed by the Devaswom Board. The Hereditary trusteeship belongs to Poomully Mana.

The Temple has a limited lodging facility with 6 Rooms available for daily rent. Temple also has a Kalyana Mandapam.
